Saginaw, Mich. – “In the Spirit” of the season, Saginaw Bay Underwriters, Blue Lakes Charter and Tours, Frankenmuth Insurance and the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club are again partnering to help those less fortunate within Saginaw County.
During two days in November, these organizations are asking members of the surrounding communities to assist them “In The Spirit” as they stuff-the-Spirit’s-bus and van with non-perishable food items, and new, or gently used clothing. These items will then be distributed to the Saginaw City Rescue Mission.
“The Saginaw City Rescue Mission serves a critical role in assisting Saginaw residents who need a helping hand,” says Saginaw Spirit President Craig Goslin. “We are pleased to have Blue Lakes Charters and Tours, Saginaw Bay Underwriters and Frankenmuth Insurance undertaking this important effort for a second year.
“Last year’s effort netted a full bus and was the culmination of amazing community support. We’re all ‘In The Spirit,’ and happy we are in a position to help.”
The Saginaw Spirit’s Team Bus and Van will be on location at Frankenmuth Insurance on November 29th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4 – 6 p.m. accepting donations from the community. The Bus and Van will then be at Saginaw Bay Underwriters, 4343 State St. in Saginaw Township, on Friday, November 30th. It will again be open for donations that day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m.
At both sites, the first 50 people donating to the effort will receive a ticket voucher to an upcoming Spirit home game (minimum five food items and/or three clothing items). Please, limit one voucher per family.
An announcement will be made during the December 1 hockey game vs. Ottawa regarding collection totals.
