Cody was picked up by the Spirit in a January 2007 trade with the Mississauga Ice Dogs. Finished the 2006-07 regular sesaon on a six game point streak. With Mississauga: Cody participated in the 2005 CHL Top Prospects Game. He was named the Top Defensive Forward in the Eastern Conference in the 2005-06 OHL Coaches Poll, and Mississauga's nominee for the 2005-06 Red Tilson Award for the OHL's Most Outstanding Player. Member of Team Ontario's 2004 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge squad. Played with Team Canada at the 2004 Junior World Cup and the 2005 Under-18 World Hockey Championship. Participated in Team Canada's Development Camp this past summer. Cody represented the OHL in both the 2004 and 2005 ADT Challenge. He was invited to the 2007 Team Canada World Junior Selection Camp. Led the Ice Dogs in PIMs during the 2005-06 season with 152 PIMs. Cody was the Ice Dogs' captain.
