Become a Spirit Intern!

The Saginaw Spirit are always looking for talented and out going individuals to join the team and help it in creating its ‘raving fan'; atmosphere!

Unless otherwise noted, internships are unpaid.  Internships are season based (Late August to April) unless otherwise noted.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS (1 Total Position Available)
Internship involves coordinating the teams public appearances and facilitating the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, to fulfill donation requests and target charitable giving.  Intern will have opportunity to create and implement new strategies that grow the foundation';s outreach. Season based, unpaid.

GAME DAY OPERATIONS/ PROMOTIONS (12 Total Positions Available)
Interns in this program facilitate the entire game day presentation of the hockey team, from on-ice ceremonies to post game player skates.  These interns will be heavily involved in both the planning of and facilitation of internal promotions such as those involved with themed games (i.e. Country Night, PINK OUT Breast Cancer Awareness, etc).  Interns will work on game scripts, interact with fans and clients, work on corporate sponsorship facilitation and more.  Season based, unpaid.

GRAPHIC ARTS (1 Total Positions Available)
The team is very involved in the creation of its internal and external advertising.  Interns in this program assist with design of advertising, sales collateral, website graphics, videoboard graphics, etc.  Some experience is required in Adobe Photoshop or other editing program.   Season based internship, unpaid.

HOCKEY OPERATIONS (1 Total Positions Available)
The team is looking for someone to assist the Director of Hockey Administration in the facilitation of paperwork and filing associated with the hockey team.  Intern will assist as needed with editing coaching video and running the coaches video production at Spirit home games.  THIS IS NOT A COACHING INTERNSHIP!  Internship is unpaid.

MARKETING (2 Total Positions Per Semester Available)
This internship is very involved with the external and internal advertising process and sales facilitation (i.e. presentation creation).  Interns also run the teams VIP room and suites on game night. Season or semester based internship, unpaid.

PUBLIC RELATIONS (2 Total Positions Per Semester Available)
PR interns will work with the team to fulfill a variety of PR related duties, including game media management, news release creation and distribution, stats facilitation and website management. Interns will assist in web based video and audio production (no experience required) and will aid in the coordination of in-game photography.  Semester or season based, unpaid.

TICKETING/MERCHANDISING $$$ (1 Total Position Available)
Intern will work under the guidance of the team's Director of Season Tickets and Merchandise, and will be trained on TicketMaster to assist the team in the day-to-day ticketing operations.  At Spirit home games intern will assist at the will call booth and/or merchandise booths.  Interns in this program are encouraged to develop new ways to generate revenue for the team through ticketing and merchandise sales by utilizing internal and external marketing.  Season long, paid upon completion of internship.

VIDEO PRODUCTION (6 Positions Available)
Interns will implement the team';s game day video program, featuring a production utilizing a center ice videoboard and four professional quality cameras.  Interns will aid in the creation of  pre-game highlight reels and video clips to be used on SaginawSpirit.com.  Internship concludes with season highlight video that is shown at year end awards ceremony.  Some experience is required in Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop.  Intern will receive complimentary DVD copy of select number of games for professional portfolio.  Season based, unpaid.
