The Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club has a number of unique opportunities to earn University Credit and valuable experience in fields related to sports management, marketing, and public relations.
Spirit Interns come from several of the areas best Universities and Colleges, including Saginaw Valley State University, Northwood University, Central Michigan University and Delta College! Game Day Operations Intern:
Principal objective:
To assist in game day operations and promotions. This position will include various marketing, promotions and game day duties including, but not limited to: implementing on-ice promotions and various other game day duties as needed. Qualified intern candidates will be considered for a position based on relevant experience and availability. Open to college students only, who will receive academic credit (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience). No financial compensation is available for any position, candidates must be available to work weekends and occasional evenings.
Requirements:
Preferably working toward a degree in sport management or related field with a strong desire to work in the field of sports or entertainment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, enthusiastic personality, and a keen attention to detail. Must have reliable transportation. Interns will perform services for the hockey club on game days and other times during the week when he/she is available. Merchandise Intern:
Principal Objective:
To assist Director of Merchandise and Merchandise Mgr. with store duties, including but not limiting to: running Spirit merchandise store, working at merchandise booths on game nights, assist in managing inventory and Spirit store. Qualified intern candidates will be considered for a position based on relevant experience and availability. Retail experience is an asset but not a requirement, computer literate in all Microsoft applications is a benefit. Open to college students only, who will receive academic credit (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience). No financial compensation is available for any position, candidates must have open availability on weekends.

Media & Community Relations Intern:
To assist the Spirit organization with Media and Community Relations, including but not limited to: publishing team content through press releases and the Spirit website, coordinating Spirit public appearances in the local community, and assisting with all media related game day operations.
Qualified intern candidates will be considered for a position based on relevant experience and availability. Being computer literate in all Microsoft and Adobe applications is a benefit. Open to college students only, who will receive academic credit (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience). No financial compensation is available for any position, candidates must have open availability on weekends.

Marketing Intern:
To assist the Spirit organization with Marketing, including but not limited to: corportate facilitation, marketing facilitation, and creation of sales collateral and sales presentations
Qualified intern candidates will be considered for a position based on relevant experience and availability. Being computer literate in all Microsoft and Adobe applications is a benefit, with emphasis on Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop. Open to college students only, who will receive academic credit (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience). No financial compensation is available for any position, candidates must have open availability on weekends.
